WHERE'S BEST TO HIRE EQUIPMENT?
There are several good rental shops in Argentiere but we particularly like Namaste, situated opposite the train station on the main street. An excellent range of equipment comes with friendly, helpful service that never feels rushed. Plus - Namaste will give you a 20% discount if you tell them you are staying at the Gite.
How do I get to the Gite?
By car – we are on the main road that runs through Argentiere, with parking available outside.
Flying to Geneva - mini-bus transfers from the Airport to our door with AlpyBus, MountainDropoffs or Peaktransfer. Easybus is cheaper but only goes as far as Chamonix.
By train – from Martigny in Switzerland, or from Chamonix.
IS A CAR NECESSARY?
There are a lot of great things to do in the Chamonix Valley so a car can be handy but certainly not necessary. Chamonix has an extensive public transport network. Regular buses and a cute mountain railway reach most of the places you will want to visit. Plus - there's a FREE transport pass for all of our guests. Sweet hey.
